LONDON (Alliance News) - ANGLE PLC said Wednesday it has been granted a Canadian patent for its Parsortix system, which is used to capture rare cells in blood for medical analysis.
This provides patent coverage over a wide range of uses of the system. It has already received patents in the US, China and Australia, and has made patent applications elsewhere in countries "considered to represent substantial markets for Parsortix products."
"The grant of this patent in Canada further strengthens ANGLE's IP position and maintains our momentum in expanding patent coverage across major markets worldwide," said Founder and Chief Executive Andrew Newland in a statement.
Shares in ANGLE were up 2.3% at 84.90 pence Wednesday morning.
