Amur Minerals Says Kun-Manie Could Sustain 15-Year Mine Operation

30th Mar 2015 09:24

LONDON (Alliance News) - Amur Minerals Corp on Monday said it has completed an internal evaluation of the potential to produce ore from the Kun-Manie nickel-copper sulphide project in Russia, with the results indicating the project could sustain a 15-year mining plan.

The company said the project is potentially capable of supporting a six million tonne per year nominal capacity project for a 15-year period, based on an earnings before income taxes, depreciation and amortisation trade-off analysis.

In-fill drilling at the Flangovy and Kubuk prospects will be required in order to upgrade the inferred mineral resource, with the majority of the drilling to target areas of underground potential, Amur said. It expects the operation to be a blend of open pit and underground mining.

"The results from our analysis of the potential to mine additional ores from underground advance us another step forward in establishing the final design bases of the proposed Kun-Manie operation," said Robin Young, Chief Executive of Amur Minerals.

Shares in Amur were up 2.1% to 13.27 pence on Monday.
