(Alliance News) - Amur Minerals Corp said Wednesday it has appointed IG Copper Chief Executive Officer Thomas Bowens as non-executive director of the AIM-listed mining firm with immediate effect.
Bowens founded IG Copper in 2009 after previously working for a string of other mining firms.
Amur Chief Executive Officer Robin Young said he was "delighted" by the appointment of Bowens to the board with his "experience of working in the mining sector, especially in Russia, and the Russian Far East in particular" bringing "invaluable knowledge and expertise" to the firm.
"Additionally, his reputation within the region, and the relationships he has developed whilst working there, will greatly compliment those of Amur's existing team," Young added.
Young continued that at IG Copper his "successful development and sale of the Malmyzh copper gold project for USD200 million, highlights his accomplishments within Russia."
Shares in Amur were 2.1% higher at 1.98 pence in London on Wednesday.
