Aminex Elevates Non-Exec John Bell To Chair As Keith Phair Retires

4th Feb 2019 12:48

LONDON (Alliance News) - Gas exploration firm Aminex PLC said Monday it had promoted Non-Executive Director John Bell to replace Chair Keith Phair with immediate effect.

Phair - who has been on the Aminex board for nine years - has decided to retire from the firm altogether.

Bell has previously worked at vice president or managing director level at energy firms including BP PLC, Statoil AS - now Equinor AS - and Suncor Energy Inc. He has previously served as director at Gulf Keystone Petroleum PLC and Tethys Petroleum where he was also executive chair.

"I would like to thank Keith for his dedication and contribution to the board over the last nine years," Aminex Chief Executive Officer Jay Bhattacherjee said. "With the company moving towards a fully-funded operational phase, as the completion of the Ruvuma farm-out progresses, I look forward to working with John and the board to drive value for shareholders."

Shares in Aminex were 3.6% lower at 1.59 pence on Monday.
