LONDON (Alliance News) - Oil and gas producer Amerisur Resources PLC said on Friday it has spud the Pintadillo-1 well, on the Platanillo block in Colombia.
Pintadillo-1 is the first of three wells targeting the N Sand anomaly, and will have a total measured depth of 8,448 feet.
The N Sand anomaly is estimated to hold P50 resources of 11.4 million barrels of oil.
"We are delighted to have commenced the drilling of Pintadillo-1, in the central part of the Platanillo block, the first of up to three fully-funded wells targeting the N Sand anomaly and estimated to hold P50 resources of 11.4 mmbo. This is an exciting time for the Company and I look forward to updating shareholders in due course on the results," said Chief Executive Officer John Wardle.
Shares in Amerisur Resources were up 1.7% at 14.83 pence on Friday.
