LONDON (Alliance News) - Amerisur Resources PLC Friday said its drilling programme for the year is progressing to plan.
The Latin America-focused oil and gas producer said that following the completion of drilling at Platanillo-15 well at its Platanillo field in Colombia, the Serinco D-10 rig was moved from Platform 3N to Platform 9S in order to drill a further 3 wells.
It said that when those thee wells at Platform 9S have been completed and placed on production, it intends to shift drilling operations to Platform 5S to drill a further 2 wells.
Amerisur said that rig upgrades made to the drilling rig D-10, should bring further efficiencies in its well operations, which will drive down capital expenditure and quicken the pace of delivering wells.
The group said that Platanillo-15 was spudded, and will be drilled directionally to a reservoir target approximately 1,602 feet south-west of the surface location. The total depth of the well will be approximately 8,589 feet measured depth.
"Our work on the Ecuador interconnector is moving forward satisfactorily and we expect to have that system in operation in the second half of this year," said Chief Executive John Wardle in a statement.
Amerisur Resources shares were trading 0.5% higher at 54.00 pence per share Friday morning.
