LONDON (Alliance News) - Amerisur Resources PLC said Wednesday its Colombian operations are making "good progress" despite bad weather conditions and delays.
The South America-focused producer and explorer made "good progress" on civil work at the Platanillo N Sand drilling site, the company said. The work includes three drilling cellars and a new 3.8 kilometre road.
The company said it has discovered several unconsolidated zones which will need to be stabilised with additional work. The first of three wells is set to be drilled after the completion of civil works in June.
Amerisur also said Vetra Exploration and Production SAS, the drilling contractor at Put-8, has experienced delays in a prior work contract and thus the spudding of Miraparriba-1 is now planned to start in June.
The company said ONGC Videsh Ltd, operator at the CPO-5 site, is continuing to advance well spudding preparations despite difficult weather conditions in the area.
Amerisur shares were trading at 16.56 pence each on Wednesday, up 4.2%.
