LONDON (Alliance News) - Amec Foster Wheeler PLC said Friday it has been awarded an engineering procurement and construction contract for Petra Diamonds PLC's Cullinan Mill extension project near Pretoria, in South Africa, valued at around USD113 million.
The contract will be executed by its South African mining company MDM Engineering, and is for the design, procurement and construction services for the mine.
"We have a wealth of experience in the South African diamond industry and are pleased to use it to not only take the prestigious Cullinan Project to the next important phase of development but also to further our partnership with Petra Diamonds," said Roberto Penno, Amec Foster Wheeler's president for Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Southern Europe in a statement.
