Amec Eligible To Bid For USD5.0 Billion Contracts From US Air Force

26th Aug 2015 06:32

LONDON (Alliance News) - Amec Foster Wheeler PLC Wednesday said it has been approved to bid for work worth up to USD5.0 billion from the US Air Force.

The work Amec will be able to bid for is under the US Air Force Contract Augmentation Programme, which was set up by the US Air Force to provide additional capabilities to rapidly support the logistic requirements of its deployed forces through the use of civilian contractors.

Amec will be able to bid for work under the programme via its joint venture with Fluor, through the vehicle Fluor-AMEC II LLC. The USD5.0 billion worth of work available is over a six-year period starting from October 1, 2015.

"We are honoured to be selected for AFCAP IV and look forward to building upon our 20 plus years of support for the U.S. Air Force in meeting its demanding global mission. This award is a pivotal part of our strategy to grow and diversify our services," said Amec Americas President Simon Naylor.

Amec Foster Wheeler has previously served the US government in a variety of areas, including mission support in Iraq and Afghanistan, military construction around the world, as well as a broad range of services in the areas of environment, energy, facilities, logistics, transportation, and contingency operations sites.
