4th Apr 2025 17:53

(Alliance News) - Alumasc Group PLC on Friday announced the opening of a new access covers manufacturing and assembly facility in Halstead, Essex for its Gatic and Wade brands.

Alumasc is a Kettering, England-based supplier of building & engineering products. Its Gatic and Wade divisions operate in surface water management and building drainage, respectively.

At the site opening, Member of Parliament James Cleverly said: "The relocation of UK manufacturing and assembly for the Gatic range to Alumasc's Halstead site is a major milestone."

"This investment will drive growth, create jobs, and foster innovation, strengthening both the local economy and the wider manufacturing sector," he added.

Gatic business specialises in surface water drainage products and engineered access covers that safely capture, control and return run-off into the natural water cycle.

For usage in and around buildings, Wade produces a variety of premium conventional and custom drainage solutions, such as roof outlets, linear drains, and floor gullies and gratings.

Alumasc said concentrating drainage manufacturing at the Halstead location will open up funding to enhance capacity and efficiency and hasten the development of new products.

The company has invested more than GBP3 million in new machinery and building work at the site.

Chief Executive Officer of Alumasc commented: "The new location not only provides state-of-the-art facilities and enhanced machinery but also enables us to optimise our operations and expand our capabilities."

To date, Gatic products have been used in 114 projects across 114 countries, including Hong Kong, Qatar, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and Spain.

Alumasc shares ended down 0.2% at 330.36 pence in London on Friday.
