Altus Sees Strong Results From Pitting And Mapping At Bikoula Project

12th Sep 2018 15:43

LONDON (Alliance News) - Africa-focused mineral exploration company Altus Strategies PLC on Wednesday said reconnaissance pitting and mapping have confirmed additional supergene haematite at the Bikoula iron ore project located in southern Cameroon.

The programme confirmed that fragments of supergene oxidised banded iron were present at Bikoula, indicating that the iron ore body continues into these areas.

"High grade iron ore products are currently yielding significant premiums to general market prices. Our Bikoula project is located within a strategic iron ore corridor in southern Cameroon," said Altus Chief Executive Steven Poulton.

"As previously reported, preliminary metallurgical test-work on representative samples from Bikoula have yielded a 62.7% iron concentrate from gravity separation alone," he added.

Shares in Altus Strategies were up 1.1% at 4.70 pence on Wednesday.
