(Alliance News) - Altria Group Inc on Wednesday said a US district court has found Reynolds Vapor Co's Vuse Alto e-vapor product infringed three of its patents.
The District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina has awarded Altria past damages of USD95.2 million after finding that Reynolds Vapor infringed patents owned by Altria Client Services.
The jury found that Reynolds Vapor violated Altria's patents covering the pod assembly used in Vuse Alto.
"Post-trial proceedings will address ongoing damages through the expiration of Altria's patents in 2035," Altria noted.
Reynolds Vapor is part of Reynolds American Inc, a subsidiary of British American Tobacco PLC.
Shares in Altria closed up 0.9% at USD44.95 in New York on Wednesday, and rose 0.1% after-hours.
