(Alliance News) - Allied Minds PLC on Tuesday said its portfolio company BridgeComm has advanced the development of its managed optical communication array technology by completing a transportable demo.
The Boston, Massachusetts-based intellectual property commercialisation company said BridgeComm's MOCA technology is a "cost-effective solution for high-throughput secure connectivity across space, air, land and sea domains".
MOCA offers a modular and scalable laser communications solution incorporating optical wireless communications that supports the demand for data, speed and security that end-users require, Allied Minds added.
"Radio frequency and fiber are technologies that have served us well, evolving to meet the increasing demands for higher performance within any mobile communications system, though they come with physical limitations for speed and capacity. Optical wireless communications addresses the needs of end users, while complimenting radio frequency with point to multipoint capability. We've seen great success in our demo and are excited for our customers to reap the benefits of MOCA," said BridgeComm Chief Executive Barry Matsumori.
Allied Minds said BridgeComm plans to open sales of its MOCA technology to customers later this year.
Shares in Allied Minds were up 1.7% at 27.88 pence in London on Tuesday.
