Allied Minds' Federated Wireless Inks Deal With US Spectrum Network

23rd Sep 2015 06:51

LONDON (Alliance News) - US-focused science and technology development and commercialisation company Allied Minds PLC on Wednesday said its Federated Wireless Inc wireless services company has signed a collaboration deal with the National Advanced Spectrum and Communications Test Network.

Under the deal, the pair will work together on the first pilot test of an environmental sensor capability for Federated Wireless' spectrum access system.

"We are pleased that Federated Wireless is the first to pilot test with NASCTN. This is a major step towards certification of our SAS and validation of more than three years of development that has placed Federated Wireless as a leader of shared spectrum technologies," said Federated Wireless Chief Executive Iyad Tarazi.

The news comes a day after Allied Minds saw its shares plunge in late trade after New York-based hedge fund Kerrisdale Capital criticised the company, saying it had "no objective evidence of commercial success" in its portfolio and said its review of the company's subsidiaries "indicates that they are developing products that are, at best, minor variations on existing alternatives, often in the face of significant competition and without plausible business models."
