(Alliance News) - Alien Metals Ltd on Monday said it has defined 20 priority exploration targets at the Elizabeth Hill silver project in western Australia.
The company, which operates iron ore and silver projects in Australia and Mexico, said the work was carried out by geophysical consulting company Southern Geoscience Consultants.
Alien Metals said that seven of the exploration targets are considered high priority for platinum group elements mineralisation, and silver, copper and nitrogen mineralisation. A further seven are lower priority targets, while the remaining six are delineated.
"As expected, some historically defined prospects were identified but we also are really pleased to have some new targets which related to more recent new discoveries in the region that can be now applied to this project area. The company is now working with various consultants who possess extensive knowledge of the area, as well as the historical work carried out, to support the company's planning and execution of the next phase of exploration programs on several of the priority targets," said Chief Executive & Technical Director Bill Brodie Good.
Last month, Alien Metals entered into a 60-day exclusivity agreement with Wombat Resources Pty Ltd, which owns historic tailings within the Elizabeth Hill project.
It said at the time it planned to use this period to carry out further assessment of the tailings in situ, and potentially negotiate an acquisition for the rights and title to the Elizabeth Hill tailings project.
Shares in Alien Metals were up 2.3% at 1.02 pence in London on Monday.
