Alba Minerals Helped By GEUS Surveying As It Plans Greenland Works

13th Mar 2018 13:49

LONDON (Alliance News) - Alba Mineral Resources PLC said Tuesday a geo-referenced orthophoto and digital evaluation model has been completed for the Thule Black Sands project area.

The model was compiled by GEUS, the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland. Alba owns 100% of the Thule Black Sands project, located in north-west Greenland.

Aerial photography completed by Alba, it said, shows mineralisation across the entire 22 kilometre coastline in the project area, and this work was used by GEUS to compile the model, which will help identify future exploration projects.

Executive Chairman George Frangeskides said: "We are grateful to the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland, GEUS, for their assistance in compiling this report. GEUS has been exploring the Thule region of north-west Greenland for many decades and has amassed a substantial geological database for the region."

"This latest analysis of the extensive mineralised coastline at our Thule Black Sands project will greatly help us in the weeks and months ahead as we prepare a significant field work programme for this coming field season."

Shares were flat Tuesday at a price of 0.370 pence per share.
