LONDON (Alliance News) - Medical device company Akers Biosciences Inc on Monday said it has appointed John Gormally as chief executive officer.
Gormally most recently worked as vice president and US region business leader of preanalytical systems with medical technology company Becton Dickinson and Co. Gormally held several positions at Becton Dickinson, having first joined that company in 1979.
Gormally will not sit on the board of directors, Akers Biosciences said.
"John has highly relevant experience to lead the commercialisation strategy at Akers Bio," said Co-Founder and Executive Chairman Raymond Akers in a statement.
"His expertise is in commercial strategy design and execution. John has achieved tremendous success both in leading Becton Dickinson business units and in a smaller, early stage medical device business," Akers added.
Shares in Akers Biosciences were untraded early Monday morning at 130.00 pence.
