Air Partner sees growth in JetCard bookings, driven by US activity

15th Jul 2021 11:53

(Alliance News) - Aviation services group Air Partner PLC on Thursday reported strong growth in its JetCard product in the first quarter of 2021, boosted by US activity.

Gatwick, England-based Air Partner said global JetCard bookings were up 57% from February 1 to June 30 compared to the same period last year and the number of new members was up 37% from the prior year.

The JetCard product allows frequent flyers to pre-pay for their flying hours in advance.

The increase was driven by US activity in which US bookings more than doubled from the prior year and the number of new US JetCard members increased by more than two-fold.

JetCard growth in the UK also showed resilience, as bookings were up 6.3% and customer deposits rose by 82% from the prior year, despite the wider downward market trend.

Air Partner saw demand recover faster for its JetCard product than ad-hoc flying.

"It is extremely encouraging to see such strong growth in our Private Jets business, particularly in the US, and the growing popularity of our JetCard product among both new and existing customers globally," said Chief Executive Mark Briffa.

Shares in Air Partner were up 1.4% at 86.58 pence each in London on Thursday morning.
