AIM WINNERS & LOSERS: UKOG, Alba up on permit from Environment Agency

5th May 2022 11:22

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers on AIM in London on Thursday.

----------

AIM - WINNERS

----------

UK Oil & Gas PLC, up 42% at 0.16 pence, 12-month range 0.09p -0.26p. The London-based company says the UK Environment Agency has granted its 86% owned Horse Hill oil field a full production permit. The permit enables production and water re-injection operations, incineration of waste gas, maintenance and workovers, and the drilling of further development wells. Alba Mineral Resources PLC, which holds a 12% stake in the project, is up 6.7%.

----------

AIM - LOSERS

----------

Petro Matad Ltd, down 11% at 3.65p, 12-month range 2.50p-9.15p. The Mongolia-focused exploration firm says the recent increase in Covid-19 related lockdowns and travel restrictions in China continue to affect Mongolia. Further, China is maintaining tight control on movement across its borders and there are currently no signs that these controls will be relaxed in the short term, it says. Notes PetroChina's export of Mongolian oil production across the border into China is also suspended because of the Covid-19 controls, and there are no Chinese oil rigs operating in Mongolia currently.
