(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers on AIM in London on Wednesday.
----------
AIM - WINNERS
----------
ECR Minerals PLC, up 24% at 0.87 pence, 12-month range 0.56p-2.00p. The company lauds "exceptionally" good grades from drilling at its Creswick gold project in Australia. "On my visit to the Creswick tenements with Adam Jones earlier this year, I saw the potential on the ground for myself, and it was this that convinced me that our plan to retest the Creswick core samples was well justified," Chief Executive Andrew Haythorpe says.
----------
Shanta Gold Ltd, up 7.5% at 12.90 pence, 12-month range 6.50p-14.00p. The company says that any offer for Yintai Gold will likely be solely in cash. The East Africa-focused gold explorer has two other suitors, Shandong Gold and London-listed Chaarat Gold Holdings Ltd. Chaarat shares were 2.9% higher.
----------
AIM - LOSERS
----------
IOG PLC, down 51% at 9.10p, 12-month range 8.00p-46.00p. The North Sea-focused gas and infrastructure operator has suspended its Southwark A1 well due to more fluid losses, putting its focus elsewhere as it still eyes first gas this quarter. "Drilling the Southwark A1 well has continued to be very challenging with further fluid losses at the base of the Bunter Shale. To preserve the opportunity to deliver first gas in this quarter, we have decided to suspend operations on A1 in order to ensure that A2 stimulation work proceeds in the scheduled window," Chief Executive Andrew Hockey says.
