AIM WINNERS & LOSERS: Aquis expects GBP1 million hit on contract loss

28th Aug 2024 11:12

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers on AIM on Wednesday.

----------

AIM - WINNERS

----------

Fusion Antibodies PLC, up 5.3% at 3.58 pence, 12-month range 2.80p-9.50p. The Belfast-based contract researcher, which provides discovery, design and optimisation services for therapeutic antibodies to the healthcare market, agrees an expansion to its collaboration agreement with the National Cancer Institute. The firm has entered a variation to the agreement, and the collaboration between the parties will be expanded to include the humanisation by fusion of several of NCI's existing camelid nanobodies. These are small antibodies derived from camel species.

----------

AIM - LOSERS

----------

Aquis Exchange PLC, down 14% at 410.00p, 12-month range 305.00-500.00p. The London-based creator and facilitator of financial markets posted net revenue for the six months ended June of GBP10 million, up 3.5% from GBP9.7 million a year prior. Cash and cash equivalents came to GBP14.5 million, up from GBP13.9 million the previous year. While Aquis maintains that it is "well positioned" to capitalise on market opportunities, it bemoans the loss of a historical contract for a start-up exchange, which was not renewed. This will reduce revenue and pretax profit from that renewal for the year ending December 31, and means Aquis now expects second half revenue and pretax profit to be GBP1 million lower than originally thought.

----------

Tertiary Minerals PLC, down 19% at 0.081p, 12-month range 0.060p-0.18p. The mineral development company focused on deposits in the US, Zambia and Northern Europe raises GBP880,000 before expenses via a placing of 1.11 billion new shares at 0.08 pence per share. This represents an 11% discount to the closing market bid price on Tuesday. The net funds will be used for exploration activities at the company's projects in Zambia and Nevada, as well as for working capital.
