LONDON (Alliance News) - Arria NLG PLC, the AIM-listed company whose core product is a type of artificial intelligence software for interpreting language, on Thursday said it is to be granted its ninth US patent to date.
In a statement, Arria said it is to be granted a patent on its 'Method and Apparatus for Annotating a Graphical Output' from the US Patent and Trademark Office.
The patent covers new features of Arria NLG's products, which automate real-time data analysis and generate reports using language that follows intuitive rules for how humans communicate and comprehend information.
"We will continue to invest in patenting our IP on an ongoing basis and are pleased to secure our ninth patent to date and sixth in 2016. We see it as essential to protect our products and critical processes as we safeguard our position as one of the leading developers of AI and NLG innovations," Stuart Rogers, chairman and chief executive, said in a statement.
Arria said it is on track to launch Recount, its first software-as a-service product offering these features and others, to accountants and financial managers worldwide, later this year.
Additionally, the company expects to introduce Software Development Kit 5.0, an automated natural language generation report-generating software toolkit permitting developers, without NLG training, to embed Arria NLG analytics and reporting into their software and websites.
Shares in Arria were untraded Thursday, having closed at 20.50 pence Wednesday.
