AfriTin Starts Validation And Exploration Drilling At Uis, Namibia

6th Nov 2018 12:22

LONDON (Alliance News) - AfriTin Mining Ltd said Tuesday it started a phase one validation and exploration drilling at the Uis tin mine in Namibia.

The programme is aiming to upgrade an validate historical data at Uis to support a new mineral resource estimate.

Chief Executive Officer Anthony Viljoen said: "The commencement of the validation drilling programme is another important step in the development of the Uis Tin project.

"The company has always been focused on upgrading the historic resource that was identified at Uis to modern JORC standards as this is a key element of AfriTin's current mine plan and the bankable feasibility study for phase two."

Last week AfriTin completed construction of the civil earthworks and platforms at the mine, which allowed it to progress the steel framework construction and equipment installation of the processing plant.

The company said it expects the phase one pilot processing plant to process 500,000 tonnes per annum, producing around 60 tonnes of tin concentrate per month.

AfriTin shares were trading down 5.1% at 3.70 pence each.
