AfriTin Mining Blasts First Ore At Uis Tin Mine In Namibia

6th Dec 2018 13:25

LONDON (Alliance News) - AfriTin Mining Ltd on Thursday reported the production of first ore from its flagship mine, Uis Tin, located in Namibia.

The miner said it has started ore preparation and stockpiling ahead of the completion of the phase 1 processing pilot plant.

As part of phase 1, the company expects the mine to produce around 60 tonnes of tin per month.

Chief Executive Officer said: "We are pleased to announce the first blasting of ore at our flagship Uis mine. This marks the first blasting of ore since the mine closed down in 1991. We are very excited to start stockpiling ore and begin the production activities of phase 1 in anticipation of the pilot processing plant being completed."

The company started preparing the commissioning of phase 1 at Uis since completing civil construction work back in June.

AfriTin shares were trading up 0.2% at 3.16 pence each on Thursday.
