LONDON (Alliance News) - African Potash Ltd on Friday said two its its board members recently met with the president of Uganda to discuss potential opportunities in the country.
The company, responding to recent press coverage about the meeting, said Executive Chairman Chris Cleverly and Non-Executive Director Peter Hain, the former UK foreign minister who joined the group in December, met with Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni recently to discuss possible opportunities in the local agriculture sector.
Further announcements will be made in due course, African Potash said.
"We were delighted to be invited by President Museveni to discuss potential opportunities for co-operating in the future with regards to investment in fertilisers. I look forward to providing further updates in due course regarding our ongoing discussions as appropriate," Cleverly said.
Shares in African Potash were up 1.1% to 1.6425 pence Friday morning.
