African Potash Completes Seismic Acquisition At Lac Dinga

20th Mar 2014 10:44

LONDON (Alliance News) - African Potash Ltd Thursday said it has completed the acquisition of exploration seismic data at the Lac Dinga Project in the Republic of Congo.

The sub-Sahara focused potash exploration and development company said 415 line kilometres of data was acquired covering a 470 kilometres squared region on and around the Lac Dinga licence area.

African Potash said initial reviews of the data indicates structural continuity from known and tested potash regions and a high potential for the presence of commercial potash mineralisation in the southern project area.

The company said the data will enable it to delineate areas for drilling and support the advancement of its on-ground exploration activities at its flagship potash project.

African Potash said that it also acquired data from two historic oil exploration boreholes which will allow a quality target generation exercise to be undertaken.

The company said the data is a positive step towards finalising an initial exploration programme at the Lac Dinga site.

African Potash shares were up 1.5% to 3.30 pence Thursday.
