LONDON (Alliance News) - Afren PLC Friday said that Finance Director Darra Comyn has resigned and will leave the company in the summer and that it has appointed David Thomas as Afren's new chief operating officer after he left fellow London-listed Petroceltic PLC.
Comyn, who joined Afren in 2010, will leave in the summer as he is staying with the company whilst it searches for his successor and completes a major restructuring of the company.
Thomas joins the company as COO after leaving the same role at Petroceltic in April. Afren said Thomas has over 35 years executive and operational experience in the international oil and gas industry covering operations, exploration, business development and corporate transactions with both large and small companies.
Afren shares were down 14% to 1.98 pence per share on Friday afternoon.
