LONDON (Alliance News) - Advanced Oncotherapy PLC said Monday it has launched a new US arm called AVO Americas Inc.
Advanced Oncotherapy said the opening of the new office was crucial for preparing the first installation of its Linac Image Guided Hadron Technology for cancer treatment in North America.
The technology was developed at The European Organization for Nuclear Research, known as CERN, in Switzerland. The company raised GBP6 million through a share placing to help develop the technology in April.
The new office will be based in the Central New York Biotech Accelerator building in Syracuse, New York, and will be managed by Jay Sinclair, the company's US Operations Manager.
"I am delighted that we have launched the new office in the US. This important milestone, coupled with our recent successful fundraise, brings us one step closer to commercialising our LIGHT technology," said Chief Executive Sanjeev Pandya in a statement.
Shares in Advanced Oncotherapy were trading up 1.0% at 2.65 pence Monday morning.
