LONDON (Alliance News) - Advanced Oncotherapy PLC Monday said it has signed a supply deal with Pyramid Technical Consultants Inc, under which the US-based firm will be the preferred supplier for the dose delivery system components of the LIGHT proton beam accelerator.
The dose delivery system is positioned at the front of the accelerator and ensures the proton beam is measured and targeted to optimise its effectiveness in cancer treatment, Advanced Oncotherapy said.
It added the deal with Pyramid, on which no financial details were provided, is the first step in the process of developing the dose delivery system.
"This agreement highlights our commitment to work with strong global partners that will continually strive for excellence in service and value. It also marks an important milestone in establishing Advanced Oncotherapy as a significant player in the proton therapy market, further paving the way for the creation of our game-changing LIGHT system," said Advanced Oncotherapy Chief Executive Officer Sanjeev Pandya.
Shares in Advanced Oncotherapy were up 0.6% to 4.00 pence in early trade on Monday.
