(Alliance News) - Adamas Finance Asia Ltd said Thursday that it has postponed its annual general meeting due to the current civil unrest in Hong Kong.
Pro-democracy protesters took to the streets of Hong Kong with barricades and rallies for a fourth straight day on Thursday, days after police shot a protester with a live round and a man expressing pro-Beijing views was set on fire.
The AGM was due to be held on Friday afternoon in Hong Kong, however in light of concerns of the safety of the company's shareholders and staff, it has now been put back.
"The directors will continue to monitor the situation in Hong Kong and the company will send out a new notice of AGM and make a further announcement in due course, with the expectation that this will be sent before the end of November. If the situation in Hong Kong remains volatile in the near-term, the directors will consider moving the venue for the AGM," the company said.
Shares in Adamas Finance Asia closed untraded on Thursday, last quoted at 24.00 pence in London.
