(Alliance News) - Active Energy Group PLC said Friday it hired James Leahy as non-executive director of the biomass renewable energy firm with immediate effect.
Active said Leahy had an "extensive" understanding of capital markets, with a specialisation in commodities. In the past, he has also served as interim chair of Bacanora Minerals PLC.
"We are pleased to welcome James to AEG's board as he brings a wealth of experience of both capital markets and the resource sector," Active Energy Chief Executive Officer Michael Rowan said.
"This will be highly beneficial as we work towards commencing commercial production at our large-scale hub at Lumberton, North Carolina in the United States," Rowan added. "The rollout of our proprietary product CoalSwitch and new second generation biomass pellets will mark a major milestone in the company's history, and we are delighted that James has joined us on this journey at such a key stage."
Shares in Active Energy closed 4.1% higher at 0.38 pence in London on Friday.
