Active Energy Continues Progress On Lumberton Operation Build Up

LONDON (Alliance News) - Renewable energy and forestry management firm Active Energy Group PLC said Tuesday it is making progress in the construction of a new CoalSwitch operation in Lumberton, US.

Firstly, all reactors and ancillary equipment are scheduled to start arriving in Lumberton later this week after being removed from the Utah site.

Construction of the five tonne per hour is expected to start within the months, while ancillary construction activities is to start with the building of weighbridges and other infrastructure items for the handling of biomass.

The test reactor is now operational, with the testing programme for clients now underway, and a five-year contract has been signed for the supply of up to 800,000 tonnes per annum of feedstock to Lumberton.

"We are delighted to have entered into the final stages of transporting and installing all the removed equipment from the Utah site to the Lumberton site, which will soon be operational. The company is now making significant commercial progress and, with the first goal of a new long-term feedstock contract signed, we are excited about moving toward production at Lumberton," said Chief Executive Michael Rowan.

Shares in Active Energy were up 9.5% at 0.46 pence on Tuesday.
