LONDON (Alliance News) - Active Energy Group PLC Friday said it has appointed 57-year old chartered accountant Brian Evans-Jones as its finance director and a board member from October 1.
Evans-Jones trained with Coopers and Lybrand after which he joined a provincial practice specialising in small businesses and business consultancy. He became senior partner of that practice in 1992 before leaving to develop his own practice three years later.
He has acted as a consultant to, officer of, and investor in, a number of businesses primarily in the food, manufacturing and property sectors, including a number of turn-around situations and early stage businesses. These included Harsco Inc., Celtic Oriental, Boditronics, Ty Nant Spring Water and Seconds Ahead, Active Energy said.
"He has an excellent track record of working within fast growing international businesses and is therefore ideally suited to AEG. Brian is already well known to the team having worked on a project basis for the group in the first half of 2014," Chief Executive Richard Spinks said in a statement.
Active Energy shares were up nearly 3% at 3.04 pence early Friday.
