LONDON (Alliance News) - Action Hotels PLC Monday said it has partnered with Whitbread PLC to further develop the latter's Premier Inn brand across the Middle East, with hotels under the partnership opening in cities including Dubai and Bahrain.
Under the deal, Premier Inn, which was established by Whitbread in 1987, will undertake long-term management contracts on four new Premier Inn hotels owned by Action Hotels.
The hotels will open between now and 2016. They include a 119 bedroom Premier Inn in Bahrain's diplomatic area opening 2015, and a 245 bedroom Premier Inn in Dubai Healthcare City opening in 2016.
Action Hotels, which listed on AIM in December, plans to invest around GBP63 million over the course of the next two years as the two firms build and develop the hotels, creating about 170 new jobs in the region.
"Premier Inn already has five hotels operating in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and the brand is proving very popular with customers who are looking for great value accommodation and a great quality product, Darroch Crawford, managing director of Premier Inn Middle East & Africa said in a statement.
Action Hotels was trading at 73.20 pence Monday morning, up 2.20 pence or 3.1%.
