Acta Sells Renewable Energy Storage System To Singapore Port Authority

LONDON (Alliance News) - Acta SpA Wednesday said its has sold a renewable energy storage system, plus installation and training services, to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.

The system will be used to store renewable energy from solar and wind turbines and will provide power for the four staff at the Raffles lighthouse on the island of Pulau Satuma.

No financial details were provided.

"In tandem with the progress we are making in the telecom back-up power sector, we are pleased to receive this first order for the installation of an Acta Power for a renewable energy storage application for powering off-grid communities," Chief Executive Paolo Bert said in a statement.

"We are receiving significant levels of interest for this type of application and we hope that this evaluation will open the door to large scale installations in developing countries," he added.
