Acer-based Winking Studios raises GBP8 million in IPO on AIM

11th Nov 2024 13:18

(Alliance News) - Winking Studios Ltd, a Singapore-based video-game services firm backed by Taiwan's Acer Inc, on Monday said it will start trading on the AIM market in London on Thursday.

Winking Studios said it raised GBP7.9 million in a placing of shares at 15 pence each. The initial public offering price in London gives Winking a GBP66.1 million market capitalisation. The IPO was led by SP Angel Corporate Finance LLP as broker and Strand Hanson Ltd as nominated adviser.

Personal computer-maker Acer took part in the placing, as did Winking Chief Executive Officer Johnny Jan and Chief Financial Officer Oliver Yen. Acer owned 62.6% of the company prior to the IPO and will have 64.2% after. Jan will have 5.5% and Yen 0.6%.

Winking already is listed on the Catalist board of the Singapore stock exchange, so its AIM IPO gives it a dual listing. The company also operates in Taipei, Taiwan and Nanjing, China. It has three main business divisions: Art Outsourcing, Game Development, and Global Publishing & Other Services.

Shares will start trading in London on Thursday.
