LONDON (Alliance News) - Software-as-a-service company Access Intelligence PLC Monday posted a widened pretax loss for the first half of 2015 as it continued to invest in developing its products in what it called a "good first half".
The company posted a pretax loss of GBP258,000 for the half year to end-June, widened from a pretax loss of GBP163,000 a year before, on revenue of GBP3.3 million, up from GBP3.1 million. The company said it had completed its exceptional phase of investment in product innovation at the end of the half year.
Access Intelligence's previous year results have been restated to classify Willow Starcom Ltd as a discontinued activity. This business was sold in April for a net profit of GBP525,000.
A majority of the company's revenue growth was in recurring revenues, which now make up 85% of total revenue, compared to 83% a year before.
The company also issued a warning to shareholders to "exercise extreme caution" should they receive any unsolicited communication regarding their investment, saying it understands several shareholders have recently been contacted by people claiming to be US-based 'brokers' expressing an interest in buying shares of the group.
These 'brokers' also claim they are buying a 51% stake in the company, Access said, and are in contact with the company about this investment. Access confirmed it has "had no contact with any parties regarding the sale of any part of the group, nor have they passed on the contact details of any shareholders to third parties."
Shares in Access Intelligence were down 3.3% at 4.35 pence Monday morning.
