(Alliance News) Abingdon Health PLC on Friday said it expects a judgement by the UK's Technology & Construction Court in relation to the judicial review against the UK's Department of Health & Social Care at 1500 BST on Friday.
Rapid test manufacturer Abingdon is an interested party in the case regarding Covid-related contracts.
Abingdon shares surged 40% to 9.08 pence each in London on Friday mid-morning.
The case name is "Good Law Project Ltd & another v The Secretary of State For Health & Social Care".
Abingdon in July received a GBP6.3 million cash payment from the DHSC as part of a settlement agreement. In June, the York-based company reached a settlement with the DHSC on the outstanding invoices due from DHSC to Abingdon.
In February 2021, a High Court ruled that the UK government unlawfully failed to publish details of billions of pounds' worth of coronavirus-related contracts, as reported by PA's Alison Kershaw.
The Good Law Project took legal action against the DHSC for its "wholesale failure" to disclose details of contracts agreed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The government is required by law to publish a "contract award notice" within 30 days of the award of any contracts for public goods or services worth more than GBP120,000.
