Aberdeen Asset Management Chief Investment Officer Richards Resigns

12th Feb 2016 16:27

LONDON (Alliance News) - Aberdeen Asset Management PLC late Friday said Chief Investment Officer Anne Richards has resigned and will step down "later this year".

Aberdeen Asset Management originally announced Richards would be leaving the company on the first day of February as she moves to become the chief executive of M&G Investments, the UK and European asset management arm of Prudential PLC.

Richards' role as head of Aberdeen Asset Management's Solutions unit, covering multi-asset, alternatives and quantitative investment capabilities, will be taken over by Andrew McCaffery, who is current heading up the company's Alternatives division.

Andrew Laing, the group's deputy chief executive, will take over responsibility for the group's operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Richards joined the board of Aberdeen back in 2011 after joining the company in 2003.

Aberdeen Asset Management shares were up 4.7% to 219.10 pence per share on Friday.
