AB Dynamics says confident in demand despite macroeconomic volatility

12th Mar 2026 12:06

(Alliance News) - AB Dynamics PLC on Thursday said underlying demand drivers in Testing Products remain "strong", as it expects to achieve annual adjusted operating profit in line with current expectations.

The Bradford, England-based testing firm operating in the transport market said order intake was GBP64 million in the six months to February 28, down 3.0% from GBP66 million a year ago.

Revenue in the first half was GBP49 million, down 6.3% from GBP52.3 million a year ago and in line with expectations.

AB Dynamics said: "In Testing Products, underlying demand drivers remain strong and customer activity was encouraging during HY26, particularly in Asia Pacific and North America.

"Demand for Suspension Parameter Measuring Machines continued to grow, with additional orders received during the period for delivery in the second half of the year and early FY27."

The firm added: "Trading momentum in Simulation was positive, bolstered by the previously announced award of a EUR9.7 million contract to supply simulation equipment to a major European original equipment manufacturer, as well as a strong trading period for our simulation software business."

AB Dynamics expects to deliver adjusted operating profit for the current financial year ending August 31 in line with current analyst expectations, citing a mean of GBP24.4 million, which would be up 4.7% from GBP23.3 million in financial 2025.

Chief Executive Officer Sarah Matthews-DeMers said: "We are mindful of the risk of increased short-term macroeconomic volatility driven by geopolitical events and are maintaining an agile approach, to ensure we minimise any potential disruption and continue to deliver unparalleled service for our customers.

"The board remains confident that the group will make further financial and strategic progress this year."

The company will release its half-year results on April 14.

AB Dynamics shares fell 3.9% to 1,192.25 pence each on Thursday afternoon in London.
