(Alliance News) - 888 Holdings PLC on Wednesday said it has hired Jonathan Mendelsohn as non-executive director and chair-designate, effective immediately.
The FTSE 250-listed online gaming entertainment provider said Mendelsohn is a highly experienced gambling sector professional with more than 20 years of industry experience.
He co-founded Oakvale Capital LLP, a strategic advisory boutique focusing on the gaming, gambling and sports sectors and was also a co-founder of corporate and public affairs consultancy LLM Communications. He is currently senior adviser to developer and operator of luxury outlet shopping villages Value Retail Management Ltd.
888 Holdings said that, following a handover period to ensure a smooth transition, Mendelsohn will succeed Brian Mattingley as chair when he steps down at the next annual general meeting in May 2021.
"It has been a great privilege to chair 888 and serve its stakeholders during more than 15 years with the group. Jon has tremendous knowledge of the global online gaming industry, extensive deal-making experience and fantastic leadership qualities. I am very confident that the board will benefit significantly from Jon's vast understanding of our sector as the group continues its exciting long-term development," Mattingley said.
Shares in 888 Holdings were trading 2.1% higher at 185.14 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
