LONDON (Alliance News) - 88 Energy Ltd on Monday said it commenced nitrogen lifting at Icewine No 2 borehole in Alaska.
The exploration & production company said the well is still in clean-up phase with a flowback rate of 166 barrels of water per day. 88 Energy runs the flowback through the separator and gas chromatograph.
The gross gas rate is averaging 571,000 cubic feet per day. About 25% of this is estimated to be hydrocarbons with the remainder being returned nitrogen, injected as part of the artificial lift.
At this stage, 88 Energy said that connectivity to the reservoir remains limited.
The clean up of the well has started on Tuesday last week. The company said it installed the coiled tube velocity string, to artificially lift stimulation fluids in order to gain connectivity to the reservoir. Since then, it returned 820 barrels of fluid.
Shares in 88 Energy were trading 2.4% lower at 1.86 pence each on Monday.
