LONDON (Alliance News) - 7digital Group PLC on Thursday said it has signed a new contract with eMusic, three months after the streaming platform was acquired by cloud computing company TriPlay.
7digital, a digital music and radio services company, said it would be providing users of eMusic with added features after a relaunch of the streaming platform, including better search functions and a library of hi-resolution lossless audio. It did not say when the relaunch would take place.
The company said the deal would contribute to its revenue for 2016. No financial details were disclosed on the contract.
"TriPlay has an exciting plan for building innovative and compelling features into their newly acquired service and we are proud to be a part of it. The pioneering eMusic brand and existing user base have a strong value that upholds the spirit of independent music and cultivates service diversity in the marketplace," said Chief Executive Simon Cole.
7digital shares were up 6.1% to 6.50 pence on Thursday morning.
