LONDON (Alliance News) - 7digital Group PLC said on Thursday that it signed deals with both Access Co Ltd and Dubset Media Inc.
7digital shares were up 9.7% at 1.12 pence per share on Thursday.
The digital music and radio platform's "significant partnership" with Access will see 7digital pre-integrate its internet radio services and programming interface into Access's recently launched "Access Twine for Car" platform.
The platform is a multimedia content service for car manufacturers that allows passengers to access the latest entertainment, bringing a wider range of audio services to drivers, and enabling internet radio to integrate with existing broadcast services.
The financial terms for this partnership were undisclosed.
"The connected car opens up a new world of in-car entertainment and represents a clear opportunity for radio to take advantage of its central position on the dashboard," said Simon Cole, chief executive of 7digital.
7digital's contract with rights technology company Dubset will see 7digital provide access to their music platform in order to assist Dubset in further enhancing its proprietary MixScan recognition technologies.
MixScan is a technology that resolves rights challenges through identifying all master recordings used in a mix or remix. This is used to control usage and distribution of content by rights holders.
The company has said that the commercial terms for this contract are confidential, but the deal will contribute to 7digital's monthly recurring revenues for 2019 and the company will receive a significant set-up fee.
"Dubset is growing a new marketplace for DJ sets and remixes, which represents a valuable revenue stream for rightsholders. We're delighted to be using our platform to partner with Dubset and deliver value both to the music industry and to individual creators," said Simon Cole on the partnership.
