3i Infrastructure Says Portfolio In Line, Eyeing More Investments

7th Jul 2016 06:57

LONDON (Alliance News) - Infrastructure investor 3i Infrastructure PLC on Thursday said its portfolio performed in line with expectations in the first quarter, and it continues to look for further investment opportunities.

3i Infrastructure said its portfolio generated GBP13.1 million of income in the first quarter to the end of June, down from GBP14.0 million in the first quarter of its 2016 financial year.

In the quarter, the group completed the acquisition of a stake in Wireless Infrastructure Group and made a EUR200.0 million investment in airport equipment owner TCR. It also raised GBP385.0 million via a share issue to back future investment plans.

The company said its investment adviser continues to develop its pipeline of potential new investments.

"The portfolio is performing well and the company made some significant investments in the first quarter. The results of the capital raise were very encouraging and the board was pleased with the strong support received from both existing and new shareholders," said Chairman Richard Laing.
