The company said it is investing alongside DWS' infrastructure investment business, formerly known as Deutsche Asset Management. The two parties are buying Attero from Dutch private equity fund Waterland.
Attero owns two energy-from-waste plants, two sorting & pre-treatment facilities, six anaerobic digestion facilities, seven composting facilities, and ten landfills, 3i said.
The company has good revenue visibility due to long-term contracts, 3i said, and is well positioned in the Dutch market.
Chairman Richard Laing said: "We are delighted to be announcing this new investment in Attero, the leading Dutch player in the waste treatment market."
"We believe the investment will deliver strong cash yields for our shareholders, and complements our existing portfolio well through providing further geographic and sector diversity."
