(Alliance News) - 1Spatial PLC said Tuesday it secured a pilot contract with the Greater London Authority to help create a digital map of pipes, cables and other key underground items in the UK capital.
The GLA has proposed to create the London Underground Asset Register pilot as part of a broader National Underground Asset Register. This was after the GLA was granted funding by the Geospatial Commission for a pilot digital map of electricity and phone cables as well as gas and water pipes in London, with an eye to expanding this nationwide.
1Spatial secured the contract to deliver transformed and platform-ready asset register data for the project following a competitive process. No financial details for the contract were specified.
"We are delighted to have been selected for this strategically important and exciting pilot," 1Spatial Chief Executive Officer Claire Milverton said. "We have an excellent track record of collaborating with organisations across the UK and globally to build, implement and support solutions that automate data flows, data integration and data quality and we look forward to leveraging these skills for GLA during the pilot."
Shares in 1Spatial were 2.5% higher at 34.33 pence in London on Tuesday.
