PDX launches Two New Solutions

PDX Mashing and PDX Cereal Cooking

PDX Brewing, Food & Beverage is pleased to announce today the official launch of two new brewing solutions; the PDX Mashing and PDX Cereal Cooking solutions.

The PDX Mashing and Cereal Cooking solutions have been commercially evaluated over a series of brewing trials in collaboration with the Versuchs-und Lehranstalt fur Brauerei in Berlin (VLB) and Doemens Academy, Germany.

These trials have demonstrated that the Mashing solution can deliver significant thermal and electrical energy savings, of up to 15% of the total energy used, and reduce processing times by virtue of a rate of heating twice that of conventional systems, while even improving the quality of the mash by removing undesirable volatile compounds.

The Mashing solution also allows brewers to re-think their process by eliminating the need for a mechanical agitator, reducing capital expenditure for the brewery as well as energy costs once again.

The PDX Cereal Cooking solution also allows for excellent results. It too is proven to reduce processing times and energy costs. In addition it reduces the costs of raw materials and produces a greater volume of extract for a given volume of raw material due to the ability of the PDX to "hyper swell" the starch.

Both the PDX mashing and cereal solutions will be commercially available later this month. PDX expects strong interest from leading brewers around the world, to which PDX now offers a broad range of products which can be combined as a single solution approach offering the potential to change the whole approach to the brewing process and the instrumentation used.

The products are being launched to the brewing market and sector press at Brau Beviale, one of the largest brewing and beverage shows in the world, which is taking place in Nuremburg on 9-11th November 2011.

PDX Brewing's existing range of products includes premashing, wort boiling and disinfection solutions, which it offers to companies including highly respected German brewer Radeberger, which has bought and is running a wort-boiling system at one of its large scale industrial plants, as well as Warsteiner and Bitburger in Germany and SAB MillerCoors in the USA, which are running pilot installations.

Heinz-Juergen Kroner, MD of Brewing, Food and Beverage, PDX, commented: "the product development and launch of both of these solutions is a significant milestone in the development of the PDX Brewing portfolio of products and illustrates the energy efficiency and cost effectiveness of our technology. Our aim is to continue to produce energy efficient solutions to this market to give brewers the 'brew house of the future'".
