December 2006 Prepaid calls for SKK 2 with Telefonica O2 forever Offer for O2 Number Ones Telefonica O2 Slovakia is offering its first customers prepaid calls for SKK 2forever. The price is for a minute of calling in the company's own network andincludes VAT. The price is valid all day, seven days a week. Those interested inthis offer can register between 15 December 2006 and 31 January 2007. This is anunbeatable deal for the cheapest calls on the market with prepaid services. Registration is free of charge and nonbinding. For SKK 50 you can then purchasea starting package, and the customer gets that amount back in the form of a50-crown credit. "This is a clear signal that it is worth it to wait for ouroffer. This offer is intended for our first customers that we are symbolicallycalling O2 Number Ones, and in the segment of prepaid services, this is anunbeatable deal," says Juraj Sedivy, the CEO of Telefonica O2. Beginning on 15 December, customers can register by filling out a form online atwww.sk.o2.com, or by telephone at 0800 02 02 02. Two hundred hostesses will alsogive people the opportunity of registering in person. The form will also beinserted in newspapers and magazines. The customer activates the ordered card bymaking the first call within four weeks after the launching of commercialoperations. The company will be launching commercial operations during February2007. Network During the first phase, Telefonica O2 will provide its services on the basis ofnational roaming. With respect to long-term strategy, however, the priority isfor O2, to build its own network that will go into operation within two years.The company has built its own center in Bratislava, and the technology provideris Nokia. The first test calls were made and the first SMS messages were sent on30 November 2006. At the moment, Telefonica O2 is identifying and obtaining newlocations for base stations. Construction of the access network will beperformed by Slovak companies and will use the Ultra High Site concept. Customer Care From the start of launching of operations, Telefonica O2 is providing customercare services that meet the highest standards. The call center will be available24 hours a day, and the worksite will be initially in Brno and soon thereafterin Banska Bystrica. The company is also preparing a strong internet customersupport center with easy navigating for everyone. "For Slovak customers, theimportant thing is not only the price, but also the quality and content of theservices and the quality of customer care. Our strategy is to offer a ratio ofthose parameters that will make customers pick Telefonica O2 as their operatorof first choice," says Juraj Sedivy. The strategic plan of Telefonica O2 is full accessibility for everyone from thebeginning, as well as the most modern approaches to communication with customersin the area of sales. Besides gradually building its own network of brand sales outlets, it hasprepared a nontraditional strategy for distribution of SIM carts and rechargingcoupons. This involves the use of a broad retail network (supermarkets,hypermarkets, filling stations, newsstands, electronics stores etc.). Sales willalso be secured through a call center and internet sales.
