Sunrise Diamonds PLC31 August 2006 SUNRISE DIAMONDS PLC 31 August 2006 EXTENSIVE FIELD PROGRAMME STARTED AT 20 PRIORITY DIAMOND TARGETS • Targets Include Occurrences Of Diamond And Kimberlite Indicator Minerals • Claims Secured In New "Area 3" Region • Micro-diamond Results From 200kg Lampi Kimberlite Sample Expected Soon.________________________________________________________________________________ Sunrise Diamonds plc ("Sunrise" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that ithas, this week, started an extensive field programme to follow up diamondtargets in Finland resulting from its detailed analysis of the BHP Billitondiamond database for Finland and the recently announced joint venture agreementwith Canada's Nordic Diamonds Ltd. Twenty target areas have been selected for follow up geochemical sampling. Theyinclude areas where diamonds and kimberlitic indicator minerals have been foundin the surface sediments but where the primary kimberlitic source remains to bediscovered. The targets are located in three main areas - in the diamondiferous Kaavi-Kuopioand Kuusamo kimberlite clusters and in a new region, now called "Area 3" by theCompany, where claims and claim reservations have been secured over a number ofpriority magnetic targets. The Company also wishes to advise that the 200kg sample taken from the recentlydiscovered Lampi kimberlite at Kuusamo is currently being processed for itsdiamond content at Kennecott Laboratories in Canada. A smaller sample fromLampi, weighing 10kg, recently returned five micro-diamonds. The results fromthe new, larger sample are expected within the next few weeks.
